Prescott Stone Fabricators is constantly creating new procedures that add value to our products. One of these is consistent use of stainless steel rodding. We first began this procedure at the inception of our business. We imbed ¼" stainless steel rods into the underside of the stone to add stability and strength to fragile, weak areas. This is never visible once the counters have been installed. We imbed the steel in front of each sink and cooktop cut-out, and usually behind each of those cut-outs as well. The stainless steel is inert and does not interact with any of the minerals in the stone, nor does it rust. The rods are held in place with epoxy and they add strength to weak areas that are vulnerable to cracks, especially before the stone is installed. Home
